The Federal Government, states, and local governments have shared a total of N2.103 trillion as Federation Account revenue for September 2025.
The revenue was distributed at the October 2025 meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) held in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).
According to the statement, the total distributable revenue of N2.103 trillion comprised N1.239 trillion statutory revenue, N812.593 billion Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
A communiqué issued by FAAC indicated that total gross revenue available in September 2025 was N3.054 trillion. Out of this, N116.149 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while N835.005 billion was set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
The communiqué further showed that gross statutory revenue for September stood at N2.128 trillion, lower by N710.134 billion than the N2.838 trillion recorded in August 2025.
On the other hand, gross VAT revenue for September was N872.630 billion, an increase of N150.011 billion over the N722.619 billion recorded in August.
From the total distributable revenue of N2.103 trillion, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, the state governments N727.170 billion, and the local government councils N529.954 billion. Additionally, N134.956 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the oil-producing states as derivation.
From the N1.239 trillion distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, the states N295.032 billion, and the local governments N227.457 billion, with N134.956 billion shared as derivation revenue.
Out of the N812.593 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government got N121.889 billion, the states N406.297 billion, and the local governments N284.408 billion.
Similarly, from the N51.684 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N7.753 billion, the states N25.842 billion, and the local governments N18.089 billion.
The communiqué noted that in September 2025, Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL recorded significant increases, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) rose marginally, whereas Oil and Gas Royalties and Excise Duty recorded slight decreases.
