The chairman of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Bldr. Samson Opaluwah, has congratulated the Registrar, Bldr. Adetunji Adeniran, on his role as co-author of a landmark publication by the UNESCO‑UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training titled: “Transformative TVET for the building and construction sector: embracing digitalisation, greening and migration trends.”
In a statement on Tuesday, Opaluwah noted that Adeniran served as Co-Lead for Africa on the publication and affirmed: “The publication is available in Open Access and can be downloaded”.
He added that CORBON “celebrates this landmark achievement which has showcased Nigeria’s capacity to contribute to the global discourse on skills and acknowledges Adeniran’s contributions to advancing TVET in the global building and construction industry.”
The UNESCO publication presents the report of the BILT Expert Group on Building and Construction 2024-2025, bringing together members from Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
According to the text, the work “offers strategic guidance on digitalisation, greening and migration for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the building and construction sector.”
It continues: “With leadership from ConCOVE Tuhura, New Zealand (Asia-Pacific), Cereq, France (Europe), and CORBON, Nigeria (Africa), the report provides actionable insights and recommendations to TVET stakeholders at the micro, meso and micro levels focusing on policy, industry and training systems.”
